Aloe & Bentonite Clay Mask Recipe

Bentonite Clay is one of the best clays that money can buy. It works like a magnet by drawing toxins from the skin while feeding the skin loads of minerals and vitamins. When combined with Aloe Vera, bentonite clay becomes a soothing and healing face mask. Aloe Vera is one of my favorite ingredients. I use Aloe Vera extract in my Aloe & Green Tea Body Butter. As a kid, I was told to rub Aloe Vera directly from the aloe plant on my skin whenever I got a scrape, bruise or burn.

The skin health benefits of Aloe Vera are incredible. It is also effective for treating acne, healing scars and reducing stretch marks. When added to It’s All Buttah body butters, Aloe Vera helps the butter feel incredibly moisturizing and it typically works well on sensitive skin. If you are looking for a quick, easy and inexpensive healing and detoxifying mask you can make at home, check out my recipe for an Easy Aloe & Bentonite Clay Mask.

Bentonite Clay

Fresh Aloe Vera

Cut around 2 ounces of fresh aloe from plant and put in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of water and blend until smooth.

Add 1 ounce of bentonite clay and stir until a paste like consistency is achieved.

Apply the mask to a freshly washed face and let sit for 15 minutes

Use cool water to rinse the aloe & bentonite clay mask off your face.

Be sure to use some sort of oil or cream after to avoid dry and tight skin. I use avocado oil from our Urban Apothecary but any natural oil you have should be fine.
